Paul Beck’s bio

Paul was born in Mitchell, South Dakota in 1964. The son of a school administrator and a homemaker, Paul grew up in a large family with two brothers and two sisters where he learned the value of strong family bonds. Paul and his wife Rena grew up as childhood friends and both attended the University of Colorado where Paul earned a BA is Business and Rena a BS in Biology.

Shortly after the birth of their boys, Connor and Logan, they moved to Red Lodge where Paul built custom homes and restored vintage homes. In 2002 Paul founded Mountain Home Inspections, a full service home inspection company, which he continues operating today and is a member of the National Association of Certified Home Inspectors (NACHI), the Montana Association of Real Estate Inspectors (MAREI) and is a member of the Red Lodge Chamber of Commerce.

Paul is Chair of the MSUB Executive Board, a position appointed by Governor Schweitzer. MSUB’s Chancellor Sexton says of Paul, “Paul Beck brings tremendous talent and a creative perspective to the Local Advisory Board. His enthusiasm and dedication to improving the world through education is a perfect match for the goals we have set at MSU Billings.” As past Chair of the Carbon County Democrats, Paul worked with Carbon County Democrats in creating a fair and far reaching Mission Statement. Paul’s skills at finding common ground and earning people’s trust led to the emergence of Carbon County Democrats as a highly active, visible and problem solving entity. His consensus building style was key in updating and modifying the 2004 Montana Democratic Platform, specifically the Agriculture Platform.

Paul and Rena believe in community and school involvement and strong family bonds. Paul volunteers for a wide variety of educational and community activities and is a youth basketball and soccer coach. Rena is the co teacher for the Luther School art program and volunteers her time to education and community.
